Caitlynn & Fletcher had their September wedding up in my favorite location in Michigan: Copper Harbor.
The day began with Caitlynn & her bridesmaids getting ready at an Airbnb in Copper Harbor while Fletcher got ready at the venue.
Fletcher had the idea as to how he wanted the first look with Caitlynn to go. He wanted to be waiting at the bottom of the staircase while Caitlynn descended to the bottom to surprise him. I’d say that the first look went according to his expectations! Not only did Caitlynn do a first look with Fletcher, but she did one with her dad and her brother as well.
Before the ceremony, Caitlynn, Fletcher & I went off to Estivant Pines to take some portraits of them in the woods.
They had a wonderful ceremony at the Harbor Haus in Copper Harbor. Caitlynn had recently lost her grandfather who she was very close with. Right when she was being walked down the aisle by her day, an eagle flew over the aisle & we all thought that it was her grandfather arriving to the ceremony.
After family portraits & wedding party portraits, the reception began with speeches by Caitlynn’s sister & father.
After speeches & dinner, Caitlynn, Fletcher & I snuck off to the top of Brockway Mountain for some golden hour photos. Unfortunately, the sun did not make an appearance for golden hour but their portraits are some of my favorites that I have ever taken.
After finishing up on Brockway Mountain, we returned to the Harbor Haus for the special dances and to break loose on the dance floor. Starting off with the first dance as husband & wife for Fletcher & Caitlynn. Then moving into the father/daughter dance, the mother/son dance, and then Caitlynn surprised her grandma with a memorial dance for her and the rest of her family to share together as they grieve their grandfather. If I cry at any part of a wedding day, it’s when the dances start. Let me tell you, I was not okay!
