I want to help you plan the most amazing adventure of your life! So, I put together a list of 5 tips for planning your elopement. Keep reading to get started!
This is the day you and your partner will look back on and remember for the rest of your lives! You deserve to make a whole day out of it and make so many amazing memories. Eloping is an experience, it is so much more than just capturing some beautiful photos. Your love is getting documented so it’s important to have the story told from start to finish.
Now to the most exciting part about your elopement, choosing the location! While choosing where to elope, make sure to pick a place that is meaningful to the both of you and be intentional. This can mean choosing somewhere you have both been before, somewhere you vacationed together and loved, or just choosing a location that you have both been dying to go to! Also, make sure to think about the time of year you are going, weather varies all over the globe.
Instead of going away for the weekend, make a trip out of it! Stay for a week or two and have your honeymoon! This will save you money by not having to travel a second time for your honeymoon and it will be extra special being able to visit your elopement spot.
Even though there will be less expenses than a traditional wedding, you still need a budget. You’ll need to allot your budget towards travel fees, room and board, and food. Plus the everything else that goes into a wedding such as outfits, flowers, a photographer/videographer and a planner. Elopements can be planned on a very small budget but they can also be very extravagant depending on the couple!
Remember that marriage laws are different all over. If you are planning an elopement in a different state or country, it’s important to do your research ahead of time! Some states like Colorado allow you to self-solemnize, which means you can get legally married without an officiant. That means one less thing to worry about!
